Frequently Asked Questions

  • Your clothing choices should reflect your style and personality. You need to feel comfortable in what you choose to wear.

For the Basic session and the Classic session, we provide everything you need to wear. (There are a few exceptions to the Basic session. Please see School Requirements below for more information.)

For the Studio, Black & White, White On White, and Digital Creation, wear one outfit of your choice. For the Environmental, you may wear 1 or 2 outfits. The sessions you schedule will determine how many outfits you wear. However, we encourage you to bring more than you will need. Our photographers can help you decide which outfit(s) will look the best.

    Here are some clothing suggestions:

    • Avoid large, bold patterns as they can detract from you.

    • Try to stay away from overly bright/neon colors.

    • Tight-fitting clothes are not necessarily the most flattering.

    • Clothing with sleeves work best.

Black & White sessions are usually taken from the waist-up. Wear tops with sleeves, preferably long sleeves. Looser-fitting, flowy type shirts work well. Shirts with a stretchy fabric work better than stiff fabrics.

  • It’s best to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your appointment time. So if your appointment is at 2pm, you would need to be at the studio by 1:45.

Why? Several reasons. You will need time to check in, pay your sitting fee, and get settled into your private dressing room. What’s it like in Memphis in the summer time? HOT! Therefore, getting here early will give you some time to cool off and touch up hair and makeup before your session begins.

Girls, it’s best to arrive with hair and makeup already done, and only needing to do minor touch-ups. If you do need more time, plan to arrive more than 15 minutes early and let our staff know so we can try to get you into a dressing room.

  • Things happen — we get that! If you are late, it may be necessary reschedule part of your session. The later you are, the less time we will have in the studio.

  • The backgrounds, props, and poses are chosen based on your clothing style and personality! There are many options to choose from in each of our studios. We will use our talents and experience to create photographs that are unique to your personal style. However, if there is a certain background, prop, or pose that you would like to use, SPEAK UP! We want your input, too!

We are always open to any ideas you may have. Please let your photographer know before the session starts if you have any special requests.

  • Your proofs will be ready to view within an hour of the end of your appointment. The exception will be anyone photographed at the end of the business day; these proofs will be available for viewing the next day. Description text goes here

  • When preparing your proofs, we use a program that automatically does minor retouching. We cannot individually lighten, darken, or color balance the proofs. It is not perfect, but this allows us to provide pictures on demand while also showing something closer to a finished product. When you place an order, your pictures will be retouched.

  • Absolutely. We remove acne and imperfections on all printed pictures and photos used for the school yearbook. Please let us know if you have any special requests. There may be additional fees for more time-consuming edits such as altering clothing, backgrounds, or removing braces.

  • We will take care of that for you. Once you make your yearbook selections, we will retouch them and send them to your school.

  • You can make selections before you leave the studio! If that is not possible, please do so as soon as you are able.

  • We set the deadline based on when your school tells us they need the finished pictures. The deadline varies from school to school.

  • If selections are not made by the deadline, your selections will be made by us. We do not want anyone to be left out of the yearbook!

  • If selections are changed after the deadline, there will be a $10 fee to cover the cost of having a second picture retouched and readied for the yearbook.

  • For anyone photographed after the deadline has passed and the pictures have gone to the lab, we do our best to get late students in, but we cannot 100% guarantee this.

  • Yes, please ask a staff member for more details.

  • For a non-refundable $100, you may take a proof book home with you. This money will be applied to anything you order.

  • The cost of having yearbook pictures sent to the lab for retouching, etc. as well as the cost of purchasing and cleaning tuxes, drapes, caps, gowns and other overhead expenses is included in your sitting fee.

  • Our policy will be to use the student’s name that the school sends us. If you would like a different name to be used, please contact the school.
